today I will be happier than a bird with a french fry

This summer has so far been especially rainy and delightfully cool to my mind. I am not a fan of the dryness and prefer things to stay as green as possible for as long as possible. Bird action, particularly in my favourite Nanaimo garden, has been most interesting this year. Here are some shots of hummers, juncoes and finches. This Nanaimo garden happens to be one of the few places in Canada that hosts Anna's Hummingbirds year round. Anna's build their nests from spiderwebs and lichens/mosses and begin laying in February to get an edge on the Rufous Hummingbirds before they arrive from Mexico.
